Albert Einstein’s famous equation, e=mc2, is the mathematical expression of a profound physical fact: all things are composed of energy.
The extraordinary complexity and diversity of the universe derives largely from the many arrangements of energy into matter, and this elemental packaging regulates and redirects the propagation of energy. As elegant and explanatory as these observations have been, we have yet to understand how the flow of energy affects the quality of human existence, until now.
When the human element is added to the theory of energy, it becomes clear that the law is not just about energy; it is about what energy creates—Abundance.
The effects of The Law of Abundance have been pointed out in many ways over hundreds of years, and many people have suggested, without really understanding why, that energy is the source. But just as describing the motion of an apple as it falls to the ground does not define the Law of Gravity, neither does examination of human experience explain the Law of Abundance in sufficiently useful ways.
Knowing what delivers a result is not as important as knowing why that result occurs. Prior to Newton's elegant mathematical explanation (the why of gravity), many battles were waged with projectiles that sometimes found their targets through an intuitive understanding of the law of gravity, but landing a man on the moon required a new depth of understanding. Likewise, formulae for success or happiness have been advanced through distillations of personal experience by observant individuals, but without knowing why a formula works most attempts to achieve similar results end in failure. When you know the why, you can make purposeful adjustments to correct your course.
If you have tried diligently to create a joyous, fulfilled, abundant life for yourself and your loved ones, but have not achieved the results you desire, it is likely because you have lacked an essential understanding of the Law of Abundance.
The Law of Abundance provides the needed depth of understanding. It takes the discoveries of science and combines them with age old wisdom to lay bare the principles of an unfailing law—a law that assures a life of abundance to those who apply it correctly.
The Four Energy Paths
Top
There are only four possible energy combinations and only one of them leads to an abundance of desirable things. The four paths, laid out in a series of illustrations, represent energy as it applies to the human condition. The Application side of each path represents the ways in which people approach life or send out energy. The Attitude side represents the ways in which people receive from life or allow the return of energy. Both Application and Attitude can be active (+) or receptive (-). Receptive Application is never effective however, and neither is an active Attitude (see illustrations).
The two “stuck” paths represent conditions where no energy is flowing because two active charges (+) or two receptive charges (-) do not result in energy flow. On the Negative Abundance path energy is flowing, but in the wrong direction—toward negative abundance. Negative Abundance refers to an abundance of things you do NOT want. Positive Abundance refers to an abundance of the things you desire. The paths are explained fully in The Law of Abundance as are ways to get off of or avoid the non-productive paths, and stay on the path to positive abundance.
Insulating Against Negativity

Because we are surrounded by negative influences which impose themselves upon us, it is essential to have ways to insulate ourselves from these external forces. Without good insulators, difficult circumstances can short circuit those on the path to positive abundance and throw them onto a less productive path. For people, the insulators are faith in self, others and a generative force. A generative force can be whatever you believe in that is generative in nature—from nature itself to a personal God. Insulators and how to develop them are explained fully in The Law of Abundance. View a representational illustration depicting the relationship between energy paths and insulators.
The Real Secret of “The Secret”
Top
To understand why certain people get phenomenal results when they tap into a movement, such as that which has been created by the video and book entitled The Secret (Rhonda Byrne, Prime Time Productions, 2006), while the majority get little to no results at all, it is important to understand how energy flows or fails to flow.
Of the four possible energy combinations only people on the (+/+) path (active application and active or resistant attitude) benefit from a Law of Attraction approach. The reason they get positive results is because this approach encourages people to let go of resistors and trust that they will receive what they desire. With encouragement and hope, a percentage of the people on the (+/+) path (stuck in fear and doubt) will change their attitude from resistant to open and receptive and, of course, the moment they do that, energy begins to flow in the right direction. For this group the active (resistant) attitude line is all that was preventing energy from flowing in the first place.
The ones who don’t get good results by following the advice given in The Secret are either those who are on the (+/+) path and cannot let go of the resistors or those on one of the receptive application paths—the irresponsible, undisciplined, fearful (-/+) or (-/-) paths (see The Four Energy Paths). These groups fail to get good results because, for them, it’s the application path that is not being properly utilized, and a better attitude won’t correct that unless the attitude adjustment results in the decision to consistently be more responsible, self-disciplined and courageous. This is extremely rare however. Most people on the irresponsible, undisciplined, fearful paths need the help of a good mentor or coach to change course and get on the path to positive abundance because they lack the self-discipline to persist until they become comfortable with a more responsible approach. Many also lack the courage to strike out on their own.
There are three primary reasons why people fail to advance toward an abundance of the things they want. These are:
1. They lack a clear vision of what they want and/or a good plan for arriving at that desired place.
2. They lack the self-discipline and/or courage to act responsibly.
3. They are resistant to change and cannot let go of old beliefs and biases that are not serving them well.
Each of these three causes is best eliminated with the help of someone who is already successful at managing that particular challenge. This might be a friend or mentor, but more often than not, the best results come from well trained and experienced coaches. Few coaches are proficient in all three areas, so some people engage two or more coaches. But often coaching that eliminates the most difficult of the three problems will improve the other two as well. The greatest gift an individual dealing with any of these issues can give to themselves, or will ever receive, is the gift of a good coach.
