Have you ever taken the time to explore enjoyment? That might seem like a strange idea to some. It isn’t something many people think much about, but it can be one of the most rewarding things you can do, and one of the most beneficial. Exploring enjoyment, not just intellectually as in “What do I enjoy?”, but experientially—doing something that lets you step into the feeling of joy—can lead to some of our most cherished moments and bless us with amazing insights.
To get and stay on the positive abundance path, we must know what kinds of activities result in the state author, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, calls flow. (The name is pronounced chick-sent-me-high-ee, in case you were wondering). The sent-me-high part works pretty nicely with flow, don’t you think? But I digress.
Csikszentmihalyi describes flow as, “being completely involved in an activity for its own sake. The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action, movement, and thought follows inevitably from the previous one, like playing jazz. Your whole being is involved, and you're using your skills to the utmost. Flow is that perfect balance between challenge and ability.”
It is in this state that all resistance fades away, the mind becomes sharper and more creative and energy flows freely in the right direction. When we are in that place everything feels right because, energetically speaking, everything is right. We are on the right path and, not only is our energy flowing toward an abundance of the things we want in the future, we are right in the middle of that abundance in the moment.
When we are in flow, there is nothing else we need—nothing else we want. It doesn’t matter what the state of the world is in that moment, or even the state of our immediate surroundings. In the midst of a flow experience we are completely content and fulfilled. If you have ever experienced that state, you have experienced true abundance.
That is the state I have been in lately and my energy level is so high I can barely sleep. Yet, that doesn’t seem to pose a problem. Several years back I read an article about Eastern Yogis who have learned to sleep so well that they only need four hours of sleep per night. When I read that, I was sleeping about 8 hours each night, and thought how great it would be to have those extra four hours to do other things.
I have always found life infinitely fascinating and find being awake to explore all the possibilities so much more interesting than sleep. I am sleeping about four and a half hours now and am just fine with that.
Since discovering the abundance formula and writing The Law of Abundance my waking hours have been quite full. Applying the formula to my own life has opened up all kinds of opportunities and shifted the nature of my life and business in ways I only imagined for far too many years.
I often get e-mails from people asking about ways to apply the Law of Abundance to their particular circumstance. They see the wisdom of following the correct energy path, but don’t know how to get past what they are currently experiencing to get and stay on it. Sometimes, it appears they are doing all the right things, but are still not getting the result they want. There is always a reason for this, but it is not always apparent.
In pondering the questions in order to answer them, it occurred to me that the world is full of people that are in that same quandary, and I wanted a way to help them. Figuring out a way to answer those questions so a lot of people could benefit from the answers is one of the things that has occupied my mind and kept me busy over the years.
I recently decided to put together a free program to present via webinar that will explain the Law of Abundance in a live, visually oriented format. The first one will take place on August 18th. The webinars are free to anyone and everyone that wants to attend. During each presentation I will invite people to post their questions, which I will compile, find the answers to and present in the next webinar. I plan to do at least four of these each year as my schedule allows.
For true abundance to exist, it must exist for us all. As a people, we still have a long way to go to eradicate the “lives of quiet desperation” which Thoreau observed to be the state of the masses more than two hundred years ago.
All change begins somewhere. Let it begin with us. Share what you have learned about living an abundant life with all who need and are open to your message. Send your family, friends and acquaintances to the Law of Abundance website to learn more about the free abundance webinars (www.thelawofabindnace.com). Help others find their joy and passion. As you share positive things with others and help them move toward a more abundant life, you will find you are moving toward greater abundance yourself.
I want to leave you with one of my favorite quotes. Margaret Meade wrote, “Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
Take the time to explore enjoyment in what ever way you choose—and then—pass it on.
Live Abundantly!
